How much will it cost to slash or firebreak my block?

Price will depend on many variables including the size of the block, accessibility, soil type and the amount of rubbish on it, and because it may require whippersnipping to be shire compliant during fire season. Request a quote for more details.

I’ve received a letter from the shire, what should I do?

Call us and we can attend to your property so you don’t get an infringement. We often work alongside the council to make sure your block is safe and compliant for each year’s fire season. We know the deadlines and have the expertise and equipment to manage any job.

I’ve received a letter in the mail but already booked my block in with you. Am I still booked in?

If you confirmed with us this year and received a confirmation email, you are booked in. If you’re unsure, give us a call or email.

Can I pay with card?

Yes, it incurs a 2% charge. Please let us know you want to pay card before we send the invoice. We can email an invoice, text it through or give you a call and manually enter card details.

Are you Insured?

Yes, we have comprehensive vehicle insurances, workers compensation and public liability insurance. Please ask if these need to be sited.

What can I do to prepare my block for a slashing service?

We please request the water and electricity services on your block are clearly marked (a tall stake is great) or visible, so our drivers can see them when undertaking works on your property. While all care is taken, we cannot be responsible for damage if services are not clearly marked when we attend.

We recommend checking your property regularly for rubbish, building materials (our equipment hates loose wire!), shrubs and trees so we can slash as much as possible.

Some whippersnipping may be required to comply with increasingly stringent shire requirements. This is an additional service and charge that will be discussed with you before proceeding with work, unless already arranged and included in quote price.

What can I do to prepare my block for a firebeak service?

Start by checking your local council firebreak notice.

Walk the firebreak at least a few weeks before your scheduled booking and check the area to be rotary hoed has a 3 metre wide cleared area with grass less than 50mm. A vertical height of 4 metres is also required for emergency vehicles to access. If there are overhanging branches, debris in the firebreak or if the grass is too long, this can present delays and extra costs so please take some photos and send them through to us.

When we attend, we will do the best we can with what’s presented and advise on areas of non compliance. October to January can be a very busy time for us so we recommend checking your firebreak in August/September so proactive action can be taken.
